Had a total blast at PictageU’s Boudoir & Lighting photography conference! The Pictage community team put together an incredible event so packed with inspiration and practical information… I was honored to be there and teach alongside such talented and brilliant fellow photographers. The conference was a huge success on many levels, and attendee after attendee said how much fun they were having and how much they were learning… one gal even said “I feel like I just got $2000 worth of content!”
The best part for me was meeting such awesome people… pro photographers are the coolest people (yes, I’m biased) and form a generous, passionate, fun-loving group! Thank you deeply to everyone in attendance for sharing your love and curiosity for boudoir photography… for being light-hearted and playful… for challenging yourself, me and all those around you. I am happy to say I walked away inspired, enlightened and with many new friends :)
Now that I just rolled back into town, I’m playing catch up with client orders and will be editing pics from the workshop sessions, to be posted soon!… In the meantime, I’d love to get some more questions from you all specifically on Boudoir and Lighting… So ask away in the comments section! and I’ll post the answers in an FAQ post early next week.
To all those editing their photos right now… keep it tight. A++ only!
Christa :)

Great use of the mask. It really makes her eyes that much more sensual and alluring. This image is so timeless and classic – such is the CM style! And I’m always pleased whenever you stress the importance of “scrubbing” the work. Good on ya!
Christa!! Had SUCH a blast listening to you speak at PictageU, watching you work, and enjoying the laughter you brought to the room. It was a spirit of playfulness and joy that made took away the nerves. And you’re a very good cheerleader too. You got me super excited about what I was coming up with. So much thanks!! :)
PS: Need any assistants to schlep bags around in Paris? ;)
Christa, your photos look amazing and you have a knack for lighting in them… how did you get into boudoir photography?
Wow, the lighting on this is really nice – I love the sharp contrast of light and dark. What would you say are the essentials of a really good lighting setup?
I LOVE that picture. Truly amazing. Also, as a side note, I love reading your blog. I feel like many photographers at your level can get quite, well, big heads. You always sound so down to earth and personable. (Which is probably why you are so successful!) I admire you!
The mask adds a hint of mystery. love it :)
Oh my gosh, Christa!! This image is gorgeous! I just wanted to tell you again how very much I enjoyed getting to know you and shoot with you…I had an absolute BLAST!!! You were great. Can’t wait to see what Pictage puts together next!
I like the focus on the mask. It looks almost digitized and surreal… the sharpness of the mask contrasting with the softness of hair leads to a really great effect. Do you use Photoshop to enhance all of your photos?
I just read your advice about sales and THANK YOU! I am so inspired!
@Betsy, La Vida
Betsy, Thank you! I’m so happy to hear that you had a great time too :) Remember to bring that same spirit of joy and playfulness to your next boudoir shoot – it really does ease the nerves and makes it a fun event!
ps. I’ve had so many offers to carry my bags in Paris – which is hysterical, since you all know I don’t use much gear! and it all fits in my one little bag :) lol!
Would love to see you there, sans baggage :)
xoxo, Christa
@Erica
Erica, thank you – glad you’re enjoying the blog :)
@Alexandra Restrepo
Yes me too! total Blast and looking forward to seeing what they do next :)
So funny, I have ideas for a “Mardi-Gras, Sultry in the South,” theme for my boudoir shoots next week – got the masks and everything! Great minds think alike ;-)
Congratulations on such an incredibly successful PictageU, Christa! I’m so excited to see the photos. xo
Great usage of the mask – she looks beautiful and mysterious ;)
Hot sexy beauty
The models look like they really enjoyed your shoots, which is a rare thing to see in a photo these days
I love her eyes.. the mask does a lot to bring them out. What inspired you to do that?
This is just a great picture! I love the use of the mask, makes it more intriquing. How do you dtermine what will draw someone in like that?
Ok so I can never find an open minded woman to do a boudoir, where on earth do u find these willing woman I dare ask Ms. Christa?
Thank you
