Some really nice photographs. Based on what I’ve seen of your work, I am REALLY looking forward to the creativeLive workshop.

I’m curious–why the cigarette? I’ve been cigarette-free for 12 years now, and don’t generally find that look attractive–perhaps because I remember the smell so vividly and it kind of makes me sick these days (literally nauseated, not “I’m-better-than-you”). Just my thoughts; no offense intended.

Thanks for the compliments Matt, and so excited for you to join us for my creativeLIVE workshop coming up!

As for the smoke, this is an Italian model who wanted “a cigarette break” – so I shot it. I’m not a fan of smoking, or tatoos for that matter, but this girl is… and so I’m finding the sexy & beautiful in both. I’m not endorsing either.

      Hope that’s helpful,

      Christa

    Hi Christa,

My friend encouraged me to visit your site but I resisted because I knew your name and success and did not want to get discouraged about my own work. So glad I did though! I am inspired to…
    – use less textures
    – find more shadows
    – show more black and white
Christa, do you think Boudoir is here to stay? I love shooting it and I am wrestling with whether or not to devote more energy and finances to this part of my photo biz.

      John,

Glad you finally visited and found the blog useful and inspirational.

And pardon my bluntness… but are you serious?! Sensual depictions of women have been around since the stone age and are here to stay.

So you can rest easy, stop wrestling with it, keep loving boudoir photography, and give it all you’ve got!

      Good luck :)

      Christa
