Lauren, In the Studio

What a little pixie! Working with Lauren in my studio at the latest Boudoir Workshop was such a pleasure. I couldn’t imagine a better muse!  Everyone adored photographing her and captured stunning images.  Lauren, you’re an awesome mix of super cute, downright sexy, and bendy :)  Thank you and I’m looking forward to our next shoot!

    I love the way that you have captured the lines of the female body. They are beautiful, fluid and mysterious. I enjoy how you have captured this woman in different moods. Some look thoughtful while others look secretive.
    Thank you for letting us in on your artistic vision.

    I like the simplicity of the black and white images. Your lighting really highlights how tone her body is.

    I love these photos. Th female body is, in itself, a work of art. In these photos, the photographer has captured that.

    This woman is gorgeous. I’ve always loved the brunettes, and her dark hair contrasting with her milky skin comes across very well in these photographs.

    Bendy hahahaaaa. Would you please share what lights, if any, you used? I have such an aversion to shooting boudoir in the studio but have been thinking of continuous lighting as an option:)

    @Kelly Settle

    Kelly, I used one light: the Photogenic Powerlight 1250 fitted with Photoflex LiteDome Medium Soft Box and placed 45 to 65 degree’s to my right (the model’s left). This is a strobe and not continuous. I always use strobes in the studio – all shots on this site, thus far, are shot with the light I mentioned above.

    Hope that helps :) Good luck! and keep in touch with how it worked out for you…

    I wanted to get your opinion on which you prefer: presets in Lightroom or PS actions? I want to buy some but I can’t decide on which would best fit me. I’m shooting lifestyle family portraits. I hope everything is going great for you. And I have to add that you’re an inspiration to me and many other photographers out there. Thanks for your help!

    @Ruth

    Ruth,
    I prefer using PS actions – the ones I have, I LOVE, and I really like to keep my edits in LR to classic beautifully exposed/color-corrected images keeping as close to SOOC (straight out of camera) as possible. If I want to do any artistic funny business, I do it with Photoshop actions. I use only a handful of them, so my work is consistent and not schizophrenic with the new flavor action of the month. Doug Boutwell is a god for creating amazing easy to use photoshop actions for free for anyone to use and enjoy. These are the ones I use… you can find them at http://thepioneerwoman.com/photography/category/photoshop-actions/

    Experiment and play with all the wonderful actions out there to find the few that best suit *you* and let me know how they’re working for ya :)

    xo, Christa

    Thanks for the info. I just used them on a baby shoot and they look great. The actions are really fun to use, too. I love that they’re free; i think that’s the best part ;-) Thanks again.
